Tips on How to Detoxify Your Body
Detoxification of the human body is nothing new. It is the process of removing toxic substances from our bodies. Toxins in our environment have the ability to disrupt our body’s natural physiological processes, and repeated exposure can lead to adverse health problems. Our bodies naturally try to eliminate as many toxins as possible, but in a world filled with so much toxicity, it is almost impossible to do without a detoxification protocol.
Do you have any of these symptoms that could be due to toxicity?
Lethargy, skin problems, sluggish bowels, allergies, difficulty losing weight, joint pain, food sensitivities, itchy eyes and ears, chronic sinus congestion, irritability, digestive problems, chronic tight neck and shoulder muscles, bad breath, hormonal imbalances or gradual changes in your monthly cycle, if you are female.
Consider the following when starting a detox program:
Clean up your diet: avoid (or reduce) inflammatory foods such as: Dairy, Gluten, Sugar, Alcohol & Caffeine.
Drink filtered water throughout the day and eat organic foods.
Remove allergens from your diet.
Eat antioxidant rich foods such as berries and cruciferous vegetables (e.g. cauliflower, cabbage, bok choy, broccoli, and similar green leafy vegetables).
Exercise
Detoxifying is NOT recommended if you are constipated or have irregular bowel movements.
