Step by Step Instructions

  1. Notice post-treatment soreness or swelling.
  2. Identify the sore area (e.g., neck or low back).
  3. Get an ice pack.
  4. Place the ice pack on the sore area.
  5. Keep it on for 10–20 minutes.
  6. Remove the ice pack and let the area warm back up.
  7. Repeat every hour as needed.
  8. Continue until soreness and inflammation settle.

It’s not uncommon that after you get treated you might feel better, have more mobility, breathe easier, and have less pain. Sometimes, though, we’re moving joints and muscles that haven’t been moved in weeks, months, years, or even decades, and we may be breaking through scar tissue. If that happens, you might notice some inflammation and pain. If you do, grab an ice pack and place it on the sore area, such as your neck or low back—for 10 to 20 minutes every hour as needed. Icing helps control the inflammatory process and numbs the area so you feel less pain. It’s normal to feel great after treatment, but if you feel sore, just use an ice pack.
